Korean Lighting Wins Gold at the 3rd Innovation Procurement Competition!



The Innovation Procurement Competition has been held since 2020 to share excellent cases and
achievements of improving public services through the Innovation Procurement System with the people.

In the Innovation Procurement Competition, each agency evaluates excellent cases that promote active and innovative procurement administration, such as creating new value-added public services using public procurement demand and promoting private sector technological innovation, and awards prizes for outstanding cases.





As of December 2022, there are a total of 1,198 innovative products for sale at the Innovation Product Exclusive Mall.
Among them, Korean Lighting's Cut-off LED Lamp won the gold prize.






The Cut-off LED Lamp, with its self-developed new technology called HS FRAME, was designated as a '2021 Innovation Product.' It achieved 80% localization of core raw materials by replacing imported materials and received high praise for its energy savings, maintenance, and cost savings compared to conventional lighting, leading to the gold award.





With international energy prices soaring, Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) posted a cumulative deficit of 21 trillion won in the third quarter of 2022. Electricity rates have more than doubled since 2021, yet the wholesale electricity price remains significantly higher than the selling price. At this time of soaring international crude oil and electricity costs, Korean Lighting's technology can dramatically reduce energy consumption in public lighting.

Unlike conventional LED lighting, which required the removal of existing light fixtures and new installations, the Cut-off LED Lamp installs LED lighting by simply adding light sources inside existing facilities.

Since the existing light fixtures are used as they are, installation is easy, maintenance methods are the same, and, most importantly, the cost of LED products is at the level of conventional lamps, so there is no need to allocate a new budget.
